Jessica | Spring Session at Carlsbad Flower Fields

We’re in the midst of spring and flowers are blooming everywhere! There’s always beautiful blooms at The Flower Fields in Carlsbad every year, but it’s been quite a while since I’ve gone. My friend Jessica had never been, so it was the perfect opportunity to do her portrait session and enjoy the fields. I was reluctant to take photos here, because I knew there wouldn’t be very many spots that were free of crowds and caution tape (the flowers are taped off so people don’t go into the field and trample them). But with a little creativity and determination we …

Em & Tiff | Spring Session in Orange County

Happy Spring! I’m excited to be taking more outdoor photos in the sunshine and among all the blooming flowers. With all the rain we’ve been having, the blooms have been stunning! These girls wanted to do a spring photoshoot so went over to Quail Hill Trailhead in Irvine to snap our shots. I’ve taken photos here when it was dry and yellow, so it was nice to see the area so lush and green! Definitely gave these natural models a gorgeous backdrop 🙂 Enjoy!

The Ohs | Family Holiday Session in Orange County

December calls for all the family holiday photos! I captured these shots of my friends at Cedar Grove Park in Tustin for their family holiday pictures. They are getting hitched in March and have already started their little family with their dog, Zula. I had my dogs with me as well, so there was definitely a lot of activity going on while we were trying to get these shots. But the greenery and the winter outfits really brought everything together. Looking forward to doing more couple + family shoots soon! Enjoy 🙂

Tiffany | Fall Portrait Session in Orange County

Hello all! We’re in the middle of October and that means it’s pumpkin season! Nothing says October more than a visit to the good old pumpkin patch. My friend Tiffany wanted some fall portraits and we knew the local pumpkin patch would be a warm and festive location. Surprisingly, it started pouring the moment we stepped into the patch! There was no rain in the forecast so weren’t prepared at all, but after hiding under a tent for a while it eventually let up. We took the opportunity before the next downpour to take our photos, and the stormy sky …

Hello all! So excited to share this blog post with you because this was definitely one of my favorite weekend trips ever! I’d heard so many good things about Portland, OR and I just knew it would be my kind of city. There are trees everywhere, it does get rainy, the food is great, and there’s tons to do! Just walking around Portland was a pleasure because it felt so different from life in Southern California. I’m definitely going to take another weekend trip to Portland sometime soon, this time where I won’t have to make sure I do all …

Skyla & Ryan Maternity Session

So excited to share the Orange County maternity session I did with the beautiful Skyla and Ryan! I’ve been friends with Skyla since my first year of college and I’m so happy to be a part of this special time in her life. She and her hubby make such an awesome pair and I am ecstatic that their little one will be a July baby like myself! This was my first time doing a maternity shoot but thankfully these two went along with every one of my ideas and we made it work! Skyla and Ryan first met at UC …

3 Days in Denver: First Time in Denver Things to Do + Itinerary

Hello everyone! So I’ve been looking over my pictures from my weekend trip to Colorado last year, and I’m really missing the crisp air and open land. We went to Denver on a whim: it was almost Labor Day weekend and we wanted to travel somewhere. But of course on a holiday weekend flight prices skyrocketed—except for flights to Denver. We had never been to Colorado, Denver sounded like a cool city, and we could cross Rocky Mountain National Park off our national park list—all for around $160 round trip! So here are Denver weekend trip ideas and a few …

Big Bear Lake Day Trip

Big Bear Day Trip

Ever since our last trip here, Big Bear has become one of my favorite destinations for fall and winter fun. Pretty much everyone here in Southern California knows about Big Bear Lake, and has visited the area at some point or another. I actually had only gone once as a kid to see snow for the first time with my family. But my day trip to Big Bear with my college friends was definitely more magical. There wasn’t a flurry of snow like when I first visited, but there was still just enough leftover from the last snowfall for a …
